Njanum Ente Familyum Boxoffice Collection Update - Grosses 58 lacs in 2 weeks

Hit serial maker K K Rajeev's maiden venture Njanum Ente Familyum, starring Jayaram and Mamta Mohandas, proves to be another bomb at the Boxoffice, after collecting just 58 Lacs in 17 days of its theatrical run in Kerala. The movie released in 57 theaters on 4th February 2011, had received mixed - below average reviews from the critics. Though it still continues to run in 23 screens all over the State, it would not be wise to expect much more collections from the theaters. The film looks at a lifetime distributor share of about 30 lacs at the moment.

The film brings the another failure to Jayaram, who desperately needed a hit to revive his fortunes at the boxoffice, after his recent releases Naayika flopped big time, while Swapna Sanchari, just about managed to recover its costs. Njanum Ente Familyum also extends the dry run for Mamta Mohandas in Malayalam. Her previous movie Sarojkumar also proved to be a dud at the Boxoffice.

The film will struggle to recover even its print and publicity costs from the theaters. The satellite rights might give the producers some respite. The film is estimated to be made at a small budget of about 2 Crores. The loss incurred as per an early estimate is about 1 Crore.
